MOSES TAYLOR HOSPITAL

Moses Taylor Hospital is an acute care facility providing comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services to the community. The Palumbo Group was commissioned to design a new cardiac treatment center, retail pharmacy and entrance for the Wainwright Building. A former laboratory and lobby area were renovated to accommodate the growing cardiopulmonary rehabilitation program and onsite apothecary. The apothecary is an extension of the hospital's pharmacy and provides the opportunity for patients to fill prescriptions before leaving the hospital.

A particular challenge to this project was to design and construct the new spaces around a fully functioning central computer room. The project was completed within the budget, design and construction schedule, and without interruption to the mainframe computer systems that feed the entire facility.
