In 2007 The Palumbo Group completed design and construction administration for the 23,600 square feet, two story addition to Bloomsburg University’s McCormick Center for Human Services. The addition was designed to act in a stand alone capacity in terms of building systems and amenities.
Two large multi-level lecture classrooms with fixed seating capacity of 250 students each have sloped floors to enhance sightlines and allow wheelchair access throughout. The design provides for room acoustics, sound systems, specialty lighting & dimming, video projection/control and Information Technology elements for each classroom.
Exterior materials include new brick and aluminum framing to match the existing building. Site amenities, designed as part of this project and including a new campus entrance, bus shelter/drop off area, a revised parking scheme which reconfigures existing parking lots, and general landscaping were constructed under a separate project which was coordinated with the main project schedule.
